A NSW Parliamentary Committee has released its report, Equity, accessibility and appropriate delivery of outpatient and community mental health care in New South Wales. It cites the evidence given by Dr Fiona Kumfor, Dementia Law Network co-founder, on avoiding inappropriate police responses to people with dementia whose changed behaviours may be misunderstood as criminal offending. A government response to the report is due by September 2024.
